A Saturday at home

Ah, Saturday. For me, usually a day of good food and adventure – perhaps to a vintage emporium (a personal favourite is Robin’s Nest) to buy some lovely things, and to have a pastry.

Sadly, neither of those are an option today, as we are still in the middle of a lockdown here in the UK. If I want to go out anywhere, it’s got to be the supermarket, or somewhere else ‘essential’ – not as glamorous as I would hope, so I think I’ll stay inside.

There’s no need to be bored though, I have enough classic movies to supply a cinema programmer with content for the next year, and enough vegetables to make soup for a dozen people (movies and soup are my two favourite things currently.)

Also, I have my novel, which I have sadly been neglecting for fear of the blank page. A lecturer once told me that if you imagine a Magnum pointed at you, you’ll start writing soon enough. How very noir, but I think I’ll skip the gun, and just give it a good old fashioned try…. maybe with a Martini after.

What are you doing today? I’d love to know, you can comment, or contact me on instagram at @adecadentpea.
